Ashton has to be a tractor whenever he finds sand, rocks, bark, water….anything that can be scooped. It will be very interesting to see what kinds of things Emmy likes to do.

This weekend, my sister Angie and her husband and kids visited from Colorado. Her kids are so cute! They stayed with us but we only had the morning to hang out. Josh went cycling with Shawn and Ang and I took the kids to the park.
Here is Ashton running to the park….Here is Anders bringing Ashton back to the group like a good, big cousin….After we told him Ashton knew where he was going, off they went again. I know this post is probably really boring to most of you, but hey, I have to do it for Grammy and Grandpa.

Here is Ashton’s first Starbuck’s experience. We went for a little drive and got Caramel Apple Cider. If you haven’t had it, you really must before winter comes! It is the very essence of Autumn! It’s like you are actually drinking Fall!
We went through the drive-thru at Starbucks and you would think that they would just rush you and demand your order immediately, just because that is what we’re used to, right? Well, I was completely overwhelmed by the stark contrast of service we received at Starbucks compared to EVERYWHERE else. It was like a hug from your grandma! I decided right then and there that I wasn’t going to go anywhere else for ANYTHING. Starbucks is the only place I should ever be, where the employees are so genuinely nice and patient and helpful. I’ve wondered since then how we all just accept the crappy service we get everywhere else, like we are a complete burden and we’re ruining their day by purchasing things from their stores. My FAVORITE thing is when you go to the cash register and the person, while sitting on a chair all fat and lazy, says “Uuuuh, just two more hours. This day has been soooo long and hard.” And then I have to pretend to care and hope they can make it through the rest of their day.
I love you Starbucks!
This was the first time Eddie ever held Emmy. She got too heavy and he had to put her on his shoulder. (She’s pretty stinking chubby). There they are watching Daddy BBQ.

Here is Ashton’s trick………………………………………………………………..and here are his treats
I stayed home and handed out candy and Josh took Ashton Trick-or-Treating with Cari. Ashton loved it, I hear. He mostly loved just walking around the neighborhood seeing everyone all dressed up and all the crazy decorations. He has only had one piece of his Halloween candy so far. I always ask him if he wants a candy (so I won’t have to eat them myself
) and he says “nnnnnope”. Then I try offering him specific ones and to each he says “nnnope”, “nnnnope”, “nnnnope”. It’s pretty cute.
