April 30th – May 6th
I am just gonna do a HIGHLIGHT post of our anniversary trip to San Diego. We had such a great time! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on Mission Bay. It was FABULOUS! I cannot believe Josh and I have been married for 12 years! It has gone by in a BLINK! I am soooo lucky he never gave up on me. There is NOBODY more perfect for me than JOSH. Marrying him was the BEST decision I have ever made!!!
The first day we went to OUR temple and did sealings. It was our first time back INSIDE the temple since we were married. It really is incredibly beautiful, a breathtaking palace inside and out!
The sand on the beach looks like GOLD! This isn’t the best picture of it, but it really has minerals of some kind (that Josh looked up and could tell you all about but I have forgotten) that make the beach SPARKLE!
It was actually pretty cloudy and 65-70 the whole time we were there. LAAAME! The few times it was sunny, we tried to be at the beach or the pool. This is the ONE time we went to the pool. What you can’t see is that all the people laying out, including us, were wrapped in towels and hoodies. 🙁 Such a bummer.
One day we went whale watching…like on a boat…out on the ocean…the deep, deep, dark, freezing ocean. Let me just tell you, I kiiiinda have a HUGE fear of the ocean. Even when I’m on the beach, I am always thinking of my tsunami plan of action. Anyhoo, what I’m telling you is this was a big step for me.
Here is our hotel as we headed out to sea.
Nothing for MILES
Josh didn’t tell me but he really wanted to see a Blue Whale. The Blue Whale season was juuuust beginning and none had been spotted yet.
It was actually SO MUCH FUN!!!! It was a calm day at sea and I was loving the few huge swells that made my stomach flutter. Aaaaand we saw WHALES!!! Not just one whale…SIX WHALES!!! And about 3000 of the cutest dolphins ever! I guess our tour was historic and amazing. WE SAW A BLUE WHALE!!! It was the first Blue Whale sighting of the season! We also saw two Gray Whales, a Fin Whale, a Minke Whale AND a Humpback Whale! The Humpback was slapping it’s…tail…back fin…on the water for a long time. It was awesome!
Steph took Ashton and Annie and Kassy took Emmy and Ethan over the weekend. They all had a blast and I am soooo lucky to have such amazing family and that we all love each other’s kids as our own.
