Josh, Ashton, and Ethan went over to Paw’s this morning to help in the yard. It is still so shocking to see Mike just walking around.
We picked up the boys and met some of the fam at East Lawn for Memorial Day visits. We gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Harris’ and Uncle Dennis’. Uncle Rich was showing Ashton a picture of Dennis on his phone. I realized that my kids have no idea who Uncle Dennis is and it made me sooooo sad!!! Josh really did not like going to the cemetary but it really made me realize that I need to be better at sharing memories with my kids. I want them to know these people who have meant to much to me!!!Emmy loves and misses Great Grandma “Haircut”. Ethan was only a year old when she passed. I really liked how Rich and Dallas set up chairs and shared memories and stories about Dennis and Grandma. It felt very therapeutic, like a breath of fresh air that I had never taken. We went to Grandpa Schroeppel’sAnd Uncle Rue and Aunt Loree’sWe also stopped by Ben Nemelka’s. I thought I was smiling a little bit but really, I wasn’t AT ALL. It is a terrible, sad picture.
Ethan didn’t want to take a nap so I told him he could stay up if he was being happy. By 4, he just wanted to relax and watch a show on my bed….At 5, we had a BBQ with the fam. Westin found Eth asleep and jumped on the bed saying “Wake up, Sleepyhead!” They ran and played nonstop the rest of the night.
