Today was just completely filled with STUFF!!! Ethan and Emmy were up bright and early, working on math problems before I was even out of bed. You will see by the end of this post that Ethan LOVES math. He is so excited about addition lately. I am so thankful for Emmy, having this inherent desire to be a teacher.
Ash and Emmy went to school and I took my bedroom apart, getting ready for our NEW BEDROOM FURNITURE to arrive. While I worked, these two played together all morning. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Then they painted…
Ethan cleaned the paint off for Annie. He is A DOLL!!!!
Ethan’s blanket is looking a little hammered. So today he gave me permission to cut the Winnie the Pooh fabric off. It looks much better now, almost brand new on the side that was covered up.
They had a picnic in the front yard…
And rode bikes…
I was able to run a tiny bit before the furniture delivery came. Then Annie was awakened and she talked to the guys while they were putting the bed together. It was pretty cute. I LOVE our new room!!!!! (I was going to put a before picture up but it is just waaaaay too ghetto even for my journal.)
We were outside all afternoon, riding bikes and playing. Emmy gave rides on her scooter.
Emmy took Ethan around the block and while they were gone, Paw came over for a little bit. While we were talking, Ethan came WALKING and CRYING around the corner. He said they crashed and his elbow was a little bit scraped. I asked where Emmy was and if she was hurt. I jumped in Paw’s car and he drove me around the block where Emmy was surrounded by adults helping her into a car and picking up her scooter.
She and Ethan were flying down the street when a little dog went running at them. It scared Emmy and she also tried not to run over it, she swerved and hit a tree and she and Ethan went flying. She was mostly just shaken up but her foot is quite scraped and bruised up. She won’t walk on it.
SO, as Paw was driving me to find Emmy, I noticed Annie riding her tricycle down towards Justin and Paisley. I figured she would be fine and I would chase her after I took care of Emmy. As Paw was driving Emmy back home, I jumped on her scooter and went around the block looking for Annie. I COULD NOT find her! I went home and sent Ashton out on his bike to search while I took care of the injured children. When they were settled, I went back out and Ashton still hadn’t found her! I was REALLY nervous by that point. I jumped back on the scooter and we went around the block two more times! I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! She wasn’t at Justin’s, Steph’s, Lindsey’s, Tosha’s or the park. I took the scooter home and prayed and prayed as I walked to the park. I didn’t know what else to do and by this time I was having serious heart pounding, panicking thoughts. I asked Rory and the people at the park to keep an eye out for Annie. Rory jumped on his bike with Austin and they headed off to search for her, too. That calmed me down enough to focus on the thought to check the Richard’s again. I checked the Richard’s back yard, where she has never been in her life, and there she was, playing in the sand box with Hunter. Jenny was back there with them and I held back the tears as I hugged her and thanked her for having Annie!!!! OH. MY. GOSH. The helplessness is too much in situations like this. I am POSITIVE I would just keel over and die if it had gone on for longer than that. When we got back home, Ashton and Druw came around the corner. Ashton said he said a prayer and then went to get Druw to help us look. I told him I found Annie probably right after his prayer. SOOOOOOO, Annie got in big trouble for not telling me where she was going. She is so good at being sincerely sorry and hugged me over and over saying “Mom, I’m SO sorry. I will never ever do it again. I’m SO sorry.” That girl. I CANNOT LOSE HER, EVER!!!!! Ethan, Annie and I drew with chalk in the driveway for a while. Ethan wanted me to give him some math problems.
Ashton, Annie and Ethan played out in the field with Nate and his kids, who were flying kites.
Ethan came in, got ready for bed and then made up his own math problems. I was really impressed!!!
Ashton finished Percy Jackson while I was putting Annie to bed. So we all watched the movie tonight. Ash didn’t want any interruptions or talking so he made us watch it in my room while he watched it alone downstairs, loving every minute.
