We woke up early to make it to the airport. Marisa is staying with the kiddies. We had a great flight to DC and went to our hotel. We are staying at The Willard. It’s a very historical hotel right across the street from the White House!
We walked around the White House area for a little bit.
Then we had dinner. After dinner, Eddie (who is still recovering from hip surgery) was pretty sore and went back to the hotel. Josh, Lindsey and I got an Uber to the Jefferson Memorial. HOWEVER, this Uber ride was one of the scariest experiences of my life. The GIRL driver must have been brand new. She STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY! I was sure we were going to die. It was horrifying, as she missed exit after exit, turn after turn. While Lindsey and I were freaking out, Josh took control of the situation and navigated her back to where she needed to drop us off. TERRIFYING!!!!
I cannot even tell you how incredible it was to be at the Jefferson Memorial. UNREAL. We walked to the Washington Monument, the World War II memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Wall. Incredible. All of it.
