Ashton woke up at 6…well, he woke me up at 6, and reported to me all that everyone had received from Santa. I took a quick shower and he sat around waiting for kids to wake up until 6:30, then I told him he’d better get them. I heard him recite to each kid what Santa brought. It was a beautiful WHITE CHRISTMAS! We went to bed with NOTHING and woke up to a foot of snow and it didn’t stop snowing until after noon! It was gorgeous. Everyone was so kind and happy, lots of hugs and ‘thank you’s’. No crying. Oh, except when Ethan tried on his new snowboard boots. They were a little snug and he just bowed his head and his little chin wrinkled up, eyes squinted, holding back the tears. Oh, it broke my heart. He maintained composure, though, and got happy quickly. Ashton got a WiiU, Emmy got an Instax Camera (Santa forgot to bring film), Ethan got a snowboard, bindings, boots and a mini drone, and Annie got a Power Wheels Carriage.
Waiting for Dad to wake up
I made a Broncos Blanket for Ash and a BYU Blanket for Ethan. Now maybe they will both retire their tiny baby blue blankets.
Mom and Dad got us family videos, a Virtual Reality head set and an entry rug for our new house!!!
Josh headed to the church at about 9:30 to help shovel snow. He, Nate, this Bishop and another guy were clearing snow the rest of the morning. They ALMOST canceled church because everyone was getting stuck at the earlier meeting. While Josh was gone, these cuties helped each other build new Lego sets, and Annie played with her Play-Doh.
Josh was shoveling snow after church also, in his suit.
We relaxed a little bit this afternoon. Josh even let me take a 15 minute nap! Then we went over to the Carr’s for lunch/dinner and gifts. All these cousins were just so sweet.
Jayda gave Emmy some of her film from Santa.
Ashton gave Druw a Seahawks beanie.
Grammy made a touching speech after opening the family pictures we all pitched in for. Sweet moment, I had to snap a picture.
Another great Christmas. We are so very blessed to have amazing family so near. And we have been blessed in EVERY WAY this year. It is absolutely humbling when I think of all that Heavenly Father has blessed us with.
