After the little kids went to school, Josh and I took Ash to the Payson Temple to do Baptisms for the Dead. It was Ash’s first time and it was so perfect! We were the only ones there and it was so calm and peaceful. I think Ash had a great experience. He didn’t want to go to school so we let the day be special and he stayed home with me.
Josh worked form home for a little while and Ashton rode his bike next to me as I ran outside. It was so much fun! I ran faster than I ever have trying to keep up with him. We went about 5.5 miles.
Ash babysat Annie after lunch and I went to Joann Fabric to try to figure out projects for the kids to do during conference this weekend. After E got home, I took him over to Gavin’s house where Austin was also playing.
Annie was carving this little pumpkin for at least an hour today. She is so very determined and tenacious. I love it!
Ethan has planned on eating at Little Acorn all week. We picked him up and got food from Little Acorn to eat at the park. We met Jason and a bunch of Josh’s friends at North Park to eat. We were all hanging out and Ash, Josh and JD were playing catch with the football. Ash went out for a diving catch and landed on a drain grate and split his knee open. We gathered everything up and headed to Instacare.
Ash was freaking out and was in shock a little bit. On the way to Instacare, he said “I wish I could be at the temple still. It was so comforting there.” Ethan whispered (in the car), “SHould we have a prayer?” What a doll. He bowed his head and folded his arms and quietly mouthed a little prayer. Ash was being so funny as he laid on the bed, waiting and waiting. He was like “I see a light!” “Am I gonna die?”, just talking and talking and freaking out but being funny. He asked Josh to give him a blessing. Josh gave him a blessing after the doc left the room to consult on the phone with an orthopedic specialist. His plan was to just stitch Ashton’s knee up but when he came back in, he said he would feel better about sending Ash to UVRMC to have a specialist look at it because it was very close to the joint. So they bandaged Ash up and sent us on our way. Ethan was sooo very concerned and sweet to Ashton through it all. He insisted on pushing Ashton’s wheelchair out. Then Emmy took over and Ethan ran to open all the doors. Such sweethearts I have!!!!
Well, Josh dropped us off at home and he and Ash went to UVRMC about 3 hours ago. It is now 11:30 and Josh just called. Ashton’s knee is fractured and they are going to keep him overnight to administer antibiotics. Tomorrow morning he will have surgery to inspect the area and go from there. I truly feel Josh’s blessing was inspired. If the doc had just stitched up Ashton’s knee and sent us on our way, who knows what the outcome would have been.
