We got right up this morning and headed out to the desert to search for Apache Tears. Jesse told the kids a story about white guys killing Apaches. Finally, rather than being killed by the white men, the rest of the indians jumped off a cliff. The Apache women watched it all and wept. Their tears fell to the ground and turned into “Apache Tears” which are little (and sometimes HUGE) obsidian rocks. We hiked for a while and finally found this amazing cave. We were there carefully mining obsidian from the cave walls for a couple hours. The kids LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!! It was such a great adventure!!!!
We went back to the Brimhall’s to swim and play the rest of the night. We all had a competition, splitting into two teams, on the zip-line, slack line, trampoline, mini golf, and running. It was a freaking blast! Sooo sooo much fun.
The kiddies had cereal for dinner and the parents had Z-Teja’s. I found out later that while the parents were inside eating, Emmy saved Annie’s life. The kids decided to swim again and Annie went down the slide. Emmy was nearby, about to jump in the pool and heard Annie go in and watched her come up, trying to get to the side. Annie is a good swimmer but I get sick thinking about this. Emmy jumped in and helped her to the side. I fell asleep thanking Heavenly Father over and over. After dinner, the kiddies watched “Invincible” and went swimming again.
Annie and Bo were the only ones left on the couch by the end of the movie. It was such a great day!
